Mental Health Week

Wed 11th May – 1.10pm-1.45pm

As you know mental health is one the biggest issues that young people face in the modern world. The focus of this week to tackle removing the stigma that is attached with mental health.
During the week the following activities will be taking place:

Parents invited into school

Organisations to set up in the 6th form library will be available for parents to talk through any concerns they have regarding their child and the advice on the best course of action.

Registration each day

Different focus each morning covering:

  • Self Harm
  • Eating Disorders
  • Male Connectiveness – this is all about young men not being connected to their friends and feelings Finding it difficult to speak out about emotional issues and concerns.

Wed 11th May  - Lesson 3 PHSE/Assembly Y7-13

Focusing on:

  • Emotional well being
  • What is meant by having a mental health issue?
  • How we can tackle the stigma attached to mental health issues?

Wed 11th May -Lunchtime

Stalls/market place Student have opportunity to talk to organisations, collect information leaflets etc. Organisations involved:

  • Barnardos
  • Young Carers
  • Taz (sexual health)
  • Young people drug & alcohol team
  • Healthy Living
