GCSE Results 2017

I am delighted to report to you that the 2017 GCSE results are excellent and a further improvement on the previous year.

Congratulations to our pupils and their teachers for what has been achieved despite very challenging circumstances. They have performed brilliantly amidst a sea of curriculum change which includes harder exams in both GCSE and vocational subjects and the introduction of 9-1 grades in English and Maths. They deserve tremendous credit for their hard work.

Year 11 worked with a real maturity, togetherness and sense of purpose throughout the year and their efforts were rewarded. It was great to watch students’ faces when they opened their envelopes, many shocked at what they had managed to achieve and to hear them thank staff in person for all their help and support.

  • The progress 8 score is +0.08, one of the highest scores for non-selective schools in the whole the Liverpool City region.
  • Attainment 8 is well above the National and local authority average.
  • The BASICS ‘strong pass’ (Grade 5 or above in English and Maths GCSE) is 51%, well above the National and local authority average
  • The BASICS ‘standard pass’ (Grade 4 or above in English and Maths GCSE) is 71%, well above the National and local authority average.
  • Those achieving EBACC ‘strong pass’ is 38%, well above the National and local authority average.
  • Those achieving EBACC ‘standard pass’ is 43%, well above the National and local authority average.
