On Wednesday 2nd November 2016 the Full Governing Body of Rainhill High School met to consider the responses to the consultation process on whether Rainhill High School should become an academy.
The proposal was “for Rainhill High School to become an Academy, and lead school, within Rainhill Learning Village Multi Academy Trust.”
The governors received and read all the responses received by stakeholders. This included letters received, responses to the website, notes of all meetings held with staff, parents, and Trades Union representatives.
The decision of the Full Governing Body of Rainhill High School was as follows.
“Having given proper consideration to the consultation on the proposed conversion of Rainhill High School to academy status under a multi academy trust and the range of comments and views received from those who were consulted on the proposed academy conversion, the Governing Body resolves to: continue with the academy conversion process and submit the draft Articles of Association, Master Funding Agreement and Supplemental Funding Agreement to the DfE for review and approval; and make a final decision on whether Rainhill High School shall convert to academy status under the proposed multi academy trust once the necessary arrangements are capable of being concluded”.
In addition, the application by Rainhill High School to become an academy, made to the Department for Education and Regional Schools Commissioner, has been successful.
The remainder of the academy conversion process includes finalising:
- the Articles of Association of Rainhill Learning Village Multi Academy Trust;
- the incorporation of Rainhill Learning Village Multi Academy Trust at Companies House;
- the Values Statement;
- the Master Funding Agreement and Supplemental Funding Agreement;
- the TUPE process; and
- the Commercial Transfer Agreement.
It is anticipated that this process will last several weeks.
Once the necessary arrangements are capable of being concluded, the Full Governing Body will meet again to make a final decision on whether Rainhill High School shall covert to academy status with Rainhill Learning Village Multi Academy Trust.
